The TurboQuery JDBC data server allows you to query and process data directly from the 4GL from any open source database that supports JDBC. Supported databases include mySql, Apache Derby and PostgresQl. This tool connects to the foreign database through a web service. Data is received and processed in the 4GL in the form of a ProDataset. Changes in the dataset are tracked and can then be committed to the foreign database. The JDBC dataserver will also come with a dictionary that allows you to maintain the schema in the foreign database.
TurboStomp is a Stomp Adapter that allows you to integrate your Progress application with any JMS message server that supports the STOMP (Simple Text Oriented Message Protocol).
The Stomp Adapter has the following features

Frank Hilhorst, President of Progressive Consulting Inc., will give the following 2 presentations at the the PROGRESS EMEA Pug challenge confenerece which is to be held on November 3 and 4, 2011.
At the PUG Challenge conference, held June 5 - 8, 2011, in Westfort, Massachusetts, Frank Hilhorst, president of Progressive Consulting Inc., gave a presentation on migrating a Progress application to an RIA technology and to the cloud. The presentation highlighted the results of an extensive set of benchmark tests on how different RIA technologies, such as SILVERLIGHT, JAVA, and OpenLaszlo, perform in the cloud, and the optimal way to integrate them with the Progress back end. Also included in the presentation was how the Progressive Consulting Turbo WebSpeed technology can be used to achieve performance improvements of 700% over the traditional Progress WebSpeed technology.
The Turbo WebSpeed CGI scripting engine is a tool that allows traditional Progress CGI scripts to be called from a servlet. Since this eliminates the overhead of having to spawn a separate Progress executable for every time a CGI script is called, performance improvements of 700% can be obtained. The new release of Turbo WebSpeed adds support for binary uploads and downloads. An object, CGIALT-WEB-CONTEXT, which mirrors the functionality of the PROGRESS WEB-CONTEXT handle, was also added.
The Cloud RIA benchmark testing project is an open source project that aims to benchmark test RIA technologies such as Silverlight, Flex etc. against the PROGRESS back end. The benchmark test uses the metaphor of runners in a race to make as many Appserver round trips as possible in a given amount of time. The benchmark tests are conducted using the Sports 2000 database on an Amazon cloud computer. A "race" is defined by the number of records fetched per Appserver call. The user selects the duration of the race and whether the runners run simultaneously or sequentially. Silverlight, OpenLaszlo , Javascript/AJAX and JAVA/SWING have already been tested. If you would like to conduct a benchmark test, contact us and we would send you the Benchmark Test Kit.
